The Man From Toronto

Teddy (Kevin Hart) is a loser whose many terrible entrepreneurial ideas sink without trace. In an effort to keep his marriage afloat he decides to take his wife Lori (Jasmine Matthews) to a cabin by a lake, but thanks to low toner in his printer ends up at the wrong place and is mistaken for the greatest assassin to ever live; The Man From Toronto (Woody Harrelson).

The Man From Toronto is a quintessential Kevin Hart comedy caper. Hart gets into a situation over his head with someone far more capable than himself and mad cap antics ensue. At 110 minutes long it outstays its welcome and of course that is only if you consider an action comedy that’s entire plot hinging on printer toner is worth a watch in the first place.

There are two reasonably decent action sequences to take in. One is a completely cliche fight on board a cargo plane; yes the door is opened! The other is a more inventive fight in a gym taking in all sorts of items at hand as weapons. Whilst the only stand out comedy moment for me involved Hart’s character trying to ascertain the correct mark from a group of people in an interrogation sequence.

Unfortunately though this is yet another Netflix film that fills some time but is utterly generic.
