Two Heads Creek

Second generation Polish immigrant butcher Norman (Jordan Waller) discovers during his mother’s wake that he and his twin sister Annabelle (Kathryn Wilder) may not be from Polish descent at all. So they make their way to Two Heads Creek, Australia in search of Mary Pierce (Kerry Armstrong) the woman who may have given them up at birth to save them from the towns deadly secret.

Two Heads Creek is an anti Brexit, pro immigration horror comedy and packs in a decent amount of laughs and gore in its 85 minutes without necessarily setting the world on fire in any of its themes.

The anti-Brexit pro immigration themes are not subtle. The film starts in post Brexit Britain where our protagonists have abuse hurled at them for being Polish and Two Heads Creek has a link to immigration in Australia as well. Whilst on the nose it points out the ridiculous nature of misplaced nationalism pretty well.

Elsewhere the comedy and horror are reasonably well done. There are no scares as everything is played for laughs but there are some funny gory scenes and a good Star Wars joke.

Diverting but not essential.
